Firsts. (LEWIS!!!!)

Monica winced. "Ow." she said between clenched teeth. It was the most she could force out. she saw Blood coating Taku's hand and she looked up at him in apology.
"I don't want to die." She whispered looking at Taku's face but barely seeing it.

"What? Oh fuck, don't say that..." Taku said, applying more pressure. He felt the flow of blood finally stop, and sighed, tying a bandage around her.

Hal looked down at the dead Shadow, leaving him and turning to Monica. "Holy shit..." H whispered, walking over and kneeling beside her. "Monica...can you hear me?" He asked, desperatley.

Monica looked down at her wound that was between her brests. "Taku, you do know you just touched my boob." she said somewhat as a slurr.
She frowned.

Taku shrugged. "Well, at least you're still alive." He said, and Hal let out a long, shaky sigh, then opened his eyes. "It just got personal."

**Sorry i had to, i was hoping to make it all awkward. Awkward moments are funny. **
Monica nodded slightly. "Fuck i feel like shit." She said. Not really thinking when she spoke.
she looked at Hal and then at the assassin's corps. Her eyes went wide, she was surprised how much Hal actually cared.

"Looks like we'll have to rest up here for the night." Hal said, and Taku nodded. "We should start soon."

Hal and Taku worked tirelessly, movingthe dead Shadow, building a shelter around Monica, starting a fire, covering the shelter, insulating it. At the end, they still weren't out of breath. They crawled in to the shelter and sat opposite Monica. "You alright?" Taku asked, concernedley.

Monica nodded slightly and tried to move only to be stopped by pain. "Sorry. I shoudln't have brought you two into this, its only made you targets for them. But thanks for your help." she said taking a deep breath from between her teeth.

Taku grinned. "You saw that body. we aren't the targets. Hal nodded, and noticed that it started to rain outside. "So much for the fire..." He sighed, as the light went out.

Monica scoffed.
"That was one. Be thankful the wolf-demon had taken out most of the other assassins back there." she said and looked to Hal noticing he wasn't speaking much.

Taku grinned. "Trust me, we can handle them..." He said, then the fire finally flickered out, and the only light was two pairs of electric blue eyes, burning through the dark.

Monica sighed.
"Hal? Why aren't you talking much?" She asked her eyes full of concern but he probably couldn't see it.

Hal looked up. "Huh? No reason.." He said, quietly. He was lying. Of course here was a reason, and Monica probably knew that.

Monica shook her head."You're really bad at lying." She said her voice almost a sigh.

"Am I?" He replied. "I never noticed." He said, lying on his side and closing his eyes. "Anyway, it doesn't matter." He finished, then fell asleep.

Monica closed her eyes, hoping to just wake up to Hal's face and not another corpse.

Hal lay with his eyes shut, and listened to the familliar voice of his brother. "You really feel something for her, huh?" He asked, and Hal sighed. "Yeah, yeah i do..." He said at last, opening his eyes, then looked over at Taku. "I would've thought you'd be asleep by now." He said, and Taku's electric blue eyes swept over to his direction. "I've been keeping watch. If Monica's important to you, that makes her important to me too." He said, and Hal's eyes widened with surprise. "Thanks..." He said, after a few seconds, smiling. They waited for morning, silently. When the sun was starting to rise, Hal checked around the shelter for a body, then outside it. Nothing. He stepped back inside the shelter. "Nothing there." Hal said,and Taku smiled. "Well, our job's done for the night." He said, and Hal nodded. He sat down, closing his eyes, and Taku lay on his back, staring at the roof. "Who would've guessed you'd end up liking a half-demon after everything we've been through?" He said, and Hal laughed quietly. "Yeah, you have a point there..." He replied.

Monica lie sleeping. Dreams filling her thoughts and clouding her vision. Meaningless illusions of the mind. One dream shifted to another and then quickly changed from a dream to a nightmare.
It was her, sitting back in the cave, staring at the lifeless corps. Her eyes shifted to the wall, the same symbol. She looked down and there were Taku and Hal. Their throats cut open and their limbs ripped to shreds. They stared at her with glossy dim electric blue eyes; she stood in the cave and felt something on her shoulder. She turned and the assassin was there, his knife covered in the brother's blood, she felt a ripping pain in her chest and he'd stabbed her in the same place.

Pain swelled in her chest.
Monica's eyes shot open and she screamed. Sweat ran down her face and her breathing was deep and heavy. The images of Hal and Taku's mangled bodies rang in her head. Tears welling in her eyes.

Hal and Taku looked up in alarm. "Monica, what is it? What's wrong?" Hal asked, putting his hands on her shoulders. Taku looked around. There was nothing to be afraid of...well not that he could see anyway...

Monica looked at Hal, her breathing slowly returning to normal.
"Nothing, it was just a dream." The word nightmare i've had. She took a deep breath. "There's no reason to be worried."

"Try and calm down..." Taku said, trying to comfort her a little bit. "You're safe here, see? No bodies this morning. Me and Hal made sure." He said, and Hal nodded. "We're not gonna let anything happen to you.

Monica nodded and took a deep breath to calm her nerves. For once she actually trusted someone. She wiped tears from her face and suppressed a sigh. "We should be going." She said suddenly changing from an innocent helpless little girl to her usual alpha-bitch self.
Her thoughts were still swarming with images of Taku and Hal’s lifeless mangled carcasses staring up at her.

*LOL alpha-bitch?*

Hal nodded. "'ll try and track one of these...shadows...and find your father." he said, and Taku added "And cut his throat."

They stepped out of the shelter, breathing in the fresh air you get after rainfall. Hal loved it at this temperature, and his eyes shone brghter with passion. It was going to be a good day.

Monica stepped out after htem.
"How do you intend to do that?" She asked arms crossed over her chest. Her brow furrowed.

"Oh, don't worry about the details..." Hal said, grinning. Determination made his eyes shine brighter still. Taku started carving an unfinished design in to his bow, concentrating with a kind of determined patience.

Monica scoffed, she hated being left out of things lick that.
She looked at Hal's eyes and was ready to melt, she never noticed how wonderful they were till now, now that they weren't in danger and he wasnt trying to kill her.
