Firsts. (LEWIS!!!!)

Monica felt sympathy for him. "I'm sorry. It must be nice to have someone by your side." she said reffering to Hal and Taku's close brotherly bond.
She looked back into the fire. "I wish i had a sibling." She sighed slightly.

Taku nodded. "I'll admit, it helps." He said, staring in to the fire.

HAl watched over the forest, seeing eyes lining the treeline. He turned, walking in to the cave. "There's something out there..." He said, and turned. Seeing a mangled corpse hanging by the neck at the cave entrance, where he was standing only two seconds ago. He jumped, drawing a knife, but the eyes were gone. "Jesus christ..." Hal said, shakily.

Monica looked up for a second seeing the corps. “Oh god.”
She felt her heart lurch. She looked away not wanting to know who it was. She felt fear creep inside her.
Dark laughter echoed through the forest and she cringed in fear. It was always at night, always when she was getting comfortable and feeling safe. She could never feel safe.

"Shit..there's a message carved in it's chest...." Hal said, then went cold as he read it. "Spirits be damned..."

Taku growled. "We'll find this demon and massacre it." He said, and Hal nodded.

*epic Fail*

Monica burried her face in her arms.
"No. Why does this have to happen again?" she asked herself, her voice muffled.
her scarlet eyes turned blue, for fear.

Hal turned round, kneeling down at her side and putting an arm around her. "Trust me, we'll kill this bastard..." He said, determinedley. Taku drew a knife, watching the treeline with fury.

Monica looked up at him with light blue fear filled eyes and nodded. She trusted him, she trusted a man who wanted to kill her just hours ago. Having his arm around her made her feel safe, it made her feel like she could live through all of this.
She looked out towards the corps and blinked hard, this was definitely the work of a demon and not an assassin. Assassins would have hung it closer and would have been swift enough to write the message in blood on the cave’s wall.

Hal looked at the corpse. "Jesus...i can't imagine what you've gone through..." He said to Monica, as Taku watched over the cave. "It's back." He said, and Hal slowly stood up. "And here it comes..." He said, The demon loked like a human, only with spears for arms. It tried to lance Taku, missing. There was a thud, and Hal looled down, at the Demon's arm, stabbed through him. He looed back up at the demon. "You...you bastard!" He said, cutting the arm off with one of his knives. He pulled out the arm with one arm, growling. Taku buried an axe in to the Demon's torsi and Hal used it's wn arm to impale it through the eye.

Monica shook her head. “I didn’t do anything. . . I don’t think.”
Then came Hal’s sudden curs towards the demon. She looked up in fear seeing as the Demon had really bad temper.
She screamed. The only reaction she had at that point.

*I just read my last post and it made no sense to me :S i'm too tired now lol, Hal cut the demon's arm off, not his own*

The demon watched Hal through it's one remaining eye, screaming it's rage at him. Hal growled, blood pouring from his chest. He coughed blood, wiping it away. "Son of a bitch..." He said, finishing it off with one stomp to the head.

Monica looked at Hal’s wound and cringed. She knew that asking the question would be absolutely pointless.
“Are you Okay?” She asked, knowing it was probably one of the most idiotic thing she’d ever said. Why did she care if he was okay? Why did she feel more guilt than ever?

Hal looked over. "Yeah...yeah, i'm--" His eyes widened suddenly as he started coughing blood, falling to his knees. "shit!" He shouted, after he'd stopped. A pool of blood had collected at his knees.

"Hal!" Monica yelled and knelt at his side not really taking attention to the blood that was seeping through her leggings.
She looked at his face seeing pain. "Hal, I’m so sorry." It was all her fault, she should have told them to leave, she should have run away.

Hal closed one eye, gritting his teeth. He looked up at Monica, and tried to smile. "For what?" He asked, then closed both eyes, as he choked, trying not to cough more blood. Taku looked over at them. "If he died once, he can do it again..." He guessed. Weird.

Monica looked at Hal’s face, into his eyes. “This is my fault.” Hurt flashed in her bright scarlet hues.
She looked back to Taku. “Are you sure?” If he died she had no idea how she’s live with herself.

Hal's eyes opened,wide, and he gasped, falling forwards. "Well, looks like we're about to find out..." Taku replied, tensely.

A few minuites passed. It seemed like years.

Finally a muffled voice came from Hal. "You have no idea how much this hurts..."

Monica took in a shaky deep breath. She was somewhat relieved, but at the same time she felt guilty. “I’m so sorry.” She said to Hal again.

Hal forced himself on to all fours, covered in blood. "God damn it, i remembered why we kill demons..." He said, and Taku laughed.

Monica laughed nervously. "Yeah." She said and shook her head. these people were insane.

Hal sighed, slowly getting up. "Was that demon working with the shadows?" He asked, then staggered, falling over. "Ah, shit." He said, and Taku started laughing. "What, are you drunk?!" He asked,and Hal growled. "Bastard..."

Monica stood to her feet. Hal's blood was on her from when she knelt next to him. She looked at the two brothers and shrugged.
"I don't know." She looked back to the corpse. "I'm guessing they were." She looked at her body in disgust. Most girls would be screaming if blood was on them, Monica would just looked at it and forwn slightly. "Hal you got blood on me." She added.

"Oh, i'm sorry.." He said, looking over and scratching the back of his head. Taku laughed again, shaking his head.

Monica nodded slightly. "Mmhm." She knelt down and opened her pack up. She grabbed out a pair of dark leggings and looked up at them both. "I'm going to change. So that means go." She said, stubbornly.
