My anger flared at his reaction. "Well it's easier for you than me! You may have just moved here and dont know many people and dont have any dreams but i do!" I was practicully screaming by the end. "And another thing; what the hell were you doing back there!? It was like you controlled the shadows and it scared the shit out of me! Never do that again! Now, i dont care what you say i'm going home!"
After i said the last word i openned my door and started walking the direction i thought the city was. Who does he think he is? He cant just waltz into my life and tell me what to do! I walked a couple more steps before i collapsed and started crying. My chest wracked with deep heavy sobs. I wrapped my arms around myself and started rocking back and forth.

I felt a small surge of anger rise inside of me. I was angry at her, at Lyrra. I promised myself I wouldn’t be. I promised I’d keep myself under control. I swallowed my anger telling myself that it wasn’t her fault, it was mine, it was my entire fault. And it was! I used ShadowPlay in front of her; I punched a hole in a human’s stomach. I nearly suffocated three people without even touching them.
I was a monster.
But she had no clue what my intentions were. I climbed out of the driver’s side and left the door hanging open. I could have cared less what I was wearing, boxers, a birthday-suit, heck I could have been wearing a dress. I walked slowly over to Lyrra the blood from my feet rubbing off on the pavement.
“L-Ly. . .“ I stopped myself. What if she didn’t want me? What if she wanted me gone? She’d seen through the lies and fake emotions, she saw the monster I really was. I was sure she never wanted to see me again. So I just stood there mulling things over, being there incase she wanted to yell at me any more. I deserved it. Hell I’d let her beat the shit out of me to make her feel better. I could think of so much to say but all that came out was three simple meaningless words.
“I’m so sorry.”
I mentally punched myself in the gut, wishing I had said more.

I turned to look at him and tried to breath and get myself under control. I stood up and walked over to him. "Just dont do it again," I said coldly and walked back to the car. I slammed the door shut and looked away from Stephan telling myself i didnt love him. I couldnt; he was a monster. But he's different around you, my mind argued. I didnt listen, not this time. I hope he felt the same pain i did.

Something in her voice, in the way she looked at me, it made me feel empty. I couldn’t feel anything at that moment, the way I felt before I met her. I felt hallow.
I walked back to the car and shut my door. My eyes stared straight at the road as I pulled back onto it and drove off, this time I went at the normal speed rate.
I looked in the mirror, looked at my eyes and saw nothing. Just eyes.
I knew what she was thinking, I wish I could have done all that before she had made up her mind to stay, Instead of answering in my head at school I should have used my shadows, I should have made her fear me. But it was too late I had gotten her into all of this and now she hated me. And I felt nothing.
I was silent.

We had been driving for maybe an hour when i risked a couple of words.
"I'm hungry and we need supplies. Like for instance clothes." I smirked when i said that.
Then i pulled down the mirror and looked at myself. Wow. I look like shit. My black hair was tangled and knotted. I had blood on my shirt from when Stephan carried me, and on top of that my shirt was ripped right across the back. I dont know when that happenned but i didnt like it.

I glanced at her my facial expression hadn’t changed. I nodded slightly and headed for town. I knew that if we went into a store looking like the way we did, we’d end up being falsely accused of being drunk in public and under aged.
I turned into the parking lot of a hotel and grabbed a box from under my chair that held thousands of credit cards under false names. I picked one up that was red and got out of the car. I didn’t say a word to Lyrra, unsure if she’d just ignore me, hit me, or yell in my face. She was unpredictable at that moment.
I opened the door and everyone from in the lobby looked at me, the women raised their eyebrows and the mothers shielded their children’s eyes. It didn’t affect me.
I walked up to the counter and put my card on the desk.
“I’d like a room.”
The girl behind the desk looked at my scarred, bloodied, and bruised body and I swore I saw her lick her lips. “Alright will that be one bed or two beds?”
“Two.”
She clicked her fingers along the keyboard and sucked air from between her teeth. “Sorry we only have rooms with one bed.”
I smiled, it was fake.
“That’ll do just fine.” I can deal without sleep I thought to myself.
The girl asked for my name and phone number, both I gave were fake. And she gave me my room card.
I took it and she stared at me as I walked out to get Lyrra.
I opened her door and held the room key in front of her, not saying anything.

I took the room key from his hand and walked into the hotel barely glancing at him. I looked at our key; Room 314. Great we were on the third floor and there was no elevator. I trudged up the stairs, barely lifting my feet off the ground. When i got to the room i was suprised to see there was only one bed. Well, I guess one of us is sleeping on the floor I thought to myself. For now though i didnt care about who was sleeping where, I just knew that i was exhausted had to sleep. I walked over to the bed and practicully fell down. I pulled back the blankets and covered myself up to my chin with them. I slipped off my pants and fell into a deep sleep.

I entered the room; there were three locks on all of the doors, the automatic one, a bolt, and a small chain. I locked them all and walked over to the window and closed the blinds.
By the time I was done checking the room for anything that could be used as a weapon I saw Lyrra passed out on the bed. My eyes flickered towards a chair in the corner of the room and I sat there staring at the door just waiting for something to happen. I kept my mind unblocked hoping that she’d see the real intentions of what I’d done back at the hospital.
But, I didn’t care.
I wanted to care more than ever, I wanted to feel tears, I wanted to feel the pain in my chest. But there was nothing.

I drempt of the hospital room, but it was different than what happened. I was there but at the same time i was also a bystander watching my own reactions and emotions. It was the strangest dream i'd ever had. The dream was also different in one other way. Stephan not only killed the nurse; he killed me. He turned after around after he had killed the nurse and smiled wickedly at me; his eyes were pitch black. I tried to runaway but he was faster and stronger than me and quickly overtook me. He made the shadows grab hold of my arms and legs and pin me to the wall and then took a knife out. He walked towards me and as he did so he said, "I told you to stay away." He took the knife and stabbed it slowly once through my stomach, second through my stomach, and third through my heart. The pain was unbearable. I slowly bled to death screaming. Then everything went black and i woke up and screamed for real.

I was quickly brought out of my thoughts, brought back to Lyrra’s screams of terror. I clicked on the lamp and was sitting on the edge of the bed I put both of my hands on her shoulders and turned her towards me trying to look into her eyes. “Hey, hey, hey shhhh.” My voice was soft and gentle my blue eyes searching her violet ones. “Hey, look at me. What happened?” I was talking about her dream, trying to make her speak to me at least once. To understand that I wasn’t all monster.
They were after us, I didn’t know who they were why they wanted us or who they’d send for us but I knew what they’d do to us once they found us. They’d do tests on us, stick needles under our skin and watch as we ran painfully while they tazed us and laugh at our pain.
I was stuck with her, weather I like it or not, and we had to get along to survive.

I was brought back to reality by a voice trying to calm me down and asking what my dream about. i looked up and was staring at Stephan's eyes; his blue eyes.
"Stephan?" I said the words barely getting out.
Then i leaned into his chest and cried my eyes out. I was so confused. I didn't know which Stephan was real; the one who was loving and caring or the one with the black eyes who will kill anyone without a second glance. I looked into his mind, diving deeper than i ever had. What i saw scared me, but then i found one spot in his mind that i liked. It was just one little corner, but it was full of love and hurt and normal emotions. I looked back into his eyes and saw hurt and worry.
"I think i'm ok." I said through my tears. "I just need some air. I think ill go shopping now, but i need some money. After all, I have to replace everything i owned."

I let her do what she had to. Shocked that she dug into my mind even deeper then she had before, yet she hadn’t gotten all the way through.
I nodded slightly. “I can take care of it.” My voice had reached the same way it had sounded before I met her, it sounded empty, full of nothing.

I started out just driving around, not knowing where i was going. Finally i saw a promising store and walked inside. It was filled with racks and racks of every type of clothes you could imagine. I was in there for about and hour before i finally found all i needed. I walked up to the front desk.
"That will be two hundred ninety dollars." She said.
My mouth dropped open in shock. $290! Holy shit! I swiped swiped Stephan's credit card and went to the bathroom to change clothes. I chose a black tanktop and a pair of dark blue bootcut jeans. Making sure i looked good i went back to my car and found the nearest convinience store and walked inside. I quickly got some shampoo, conditioner, razors, body wash, a hairdryer, toothbrushes and toothpaste, and finally a lufa. I was about to pay for them when a picture on the tv caught my eye. I payed for the stuff, ran out of the store, and sped to the hotel. I grabbed the bags and sprinted towards the room. I busted through the door and yelled at Stephan to turn on the news.

While Lyrra was out I lay on the bed to catch some rest, I’d stayed up all night watching out for her and my stomach still felt like it was being torn apart, not because of emotional heart break, because of the gash that I had sewn together with dental floss and some alcohol I found in the mini fridge.
I was just about to slip into a nice relaxing sleep when Lyrra crashed through the door with bags full of cloths and other essentials that I didn’t need but she probably did.
She yelled at me to turn on the news and I did quickly, just in time to see an interview with the nurses that I’d nearly choked to death.
“His eye’s were black! I had never seen something like that, I was terrified, and the girl was real creepy. She looked like a devil worshiper.” the nurse went on with the interview speaking nonsense about us.
“The patients say that the man was carrying the girl down the hall, trying to run from the police. The squat team was shortly called after they found Sheryl Hanson dead on the floor of his room. They think he was on steroids, and cocaine, explaining the eyes. Back to you Marshal.”
I didn’t look at Lyrra. “They’re covering up our story with the press so they have a reason to take us to a mental institute.” My eyes stared at the TV not paying attention to the rest of it. I gritted my teeth. “Get your stuff we’re leaving.”

"If we cant stay here, Where can we stay? We'll never be able to stay anywhere." I said while grabbing up the bags i had just dropped.
"I'll drive; you look like you're about to pass out," i said.
I walked back to my car and hopped in the front.

I nodded at her and walked out to the car, I sat in the passenger side and closed my eyes for a brief second before realizing I was still in my boxers. I was too lazy to change and too tired to care.
“We’ll have to stay in the car. We’re going to Canada, I don’t care how far it is, and then from there we can buy a ticket to the UK where I know a few people. They can keep us safe till I figure out a way to get these jack asses off our backs.” I stared out the widowsheild watching the road.
I was serious about this.

"Ok," I said defeated. I started driving out of the city, away from anything and everything i knew. We were driving for about an hour when the sun started to go down.
"We should really find somewhere to camp out for the night," I said.

I shook my head. "If we stop they'll catch up to us. If you're tired i can take the wheel." I offered trying to put as much space between me and Lyrra as possible.

"Stubborn jackass." I said under my breath. "No, I'll be fine." I turned on the music and kept driving. About an hour later i decided to stop for some food. "Want anything?" I asked Stephan.

I nodded slightly. “Water would be nice.” My eyes searched hers for a second, trying to see something, anything.
I shook my head and watched as she walked in.

I stared at the streetlights and then all of a sudden they flickered. My eyes darted to the window checking the shadows. Nothing.
I heard one of the lights shatter and my head snapped towards it. It was from a few blocks away. My eyes narrowed and then another shattered. My eyes widened as all the lights around me flickered and then burst.
I felt an odd presents and then before I knew it something shattered through the window shield.
I stared my eyes opened wide as a man in a black hoodie was staring at me through a broken window. A smile on his shaded face.
My eyes turned black and I jumped at him through the window and knocked him onto the hood of the car. I pushed him off making him fall to the glass covered ground and knelt on his chest. I gripped his shirt. “What do you want!” My face was in a sneer. “What are you doing here! Who the fuck sent you!”
The man laughed. “I’m here to say hi. Oh by the way you’re half naked.” He pointed to my boxers and I just punched him. Blood ran down his face.

I walked out right as Stephan punched the stranger in the face. I dropped everything in my arms and ran towards him.
"Who the fuck is this and what did he do?" I said. I went into the strangers mind, or tried to.
"I cant read him." Why whenever i meet a stranger i can't read him. I looked at his face. Blood ran down his face from Stephan's punch. He had kind of pale skin and brown eyes. He wasnt bad looking. Stephan, how do i break his walls? I asked him mentally. I tried to get in the strangers mind again and this time was painfully kicked out.
"Ow," I said angrily.

I punched him again feeling the red liquid run between my fingers. I smiled, it felt good. I didn’t answer Lyrra.
I grabbed the guy’s shirt and pulled him closer so he could see my eyes. “Tell me your name, power, and why the fuck you’re here.” I said my voice a demonic whisper.
The urges were getting stronger as blood rushed from his face. With every drip that fell I wanted to bash his head into the ground or punch a hole in his chest even more.
The man lifted his hands in surrender. “Okay! I’m Xander! I-I can do anything, you know like move thing, make things spontaneously combust a-and I can see things, I can’t explain it, I see things before they happen, I see people’s dreams. I’m here because I heard about it on the news, I knew you were here and knew you probably needed some help.” His brown eyes grew wide as I lifted my hand to punch him again.
“Are you telling the truth! Take down your guard!”
And he did, I read his thoughts. He was telling the truth.

I got off of him and lifted him to his feet. My eyes still black; I squeezed them shut to keep Lyrra from seeing. “Get out of here. We don’t need your help.”
“I know where they are. The FBI is with them. And people higher than the Government are after you, after us, I mean people like us.” His voice was low and seductive, like mine only he had a waver whenever he spoke.

I took a closer look at Xander. He had shaggy brown hair and was wearing dark clothes.
"Hey, I'm Lyrra and this is Stephan," i said with an effort at a smile. I think he could tell it was fake because the truth was i couldnt really smile anymore. Not after what happened. I looked over at Stephan, his eyes were closed and he was still in his boxers. Hey, can i talk to you for a second? i asked him. I was hoping he'd say yes. There was a couple things we needed to discuss, beginning with the fact that he's been wearing nothing but boxers for almost two days. I then realized that the stuff i had dropped was still laying infront of the door to the gas station. I ran back and picked it up making sure everything was there. It was. I walked back to my car and put the stuff in the front seat then went to join the guys again.

I felt the anger subside and I looked back at Lyrra as she ran to get the things. I then looked back at Xander and glared. “Why are you really here?”
“I told you.”
“No you’re lying, I can tell.”
“I don’t kno-”
“I know what guilt looks like, I beg for guilt.’
“Your threats are pitiful.”
“Don’t go near Lyrra.”
“We’ll see.” He said and smiled at Lyrra as she joined us again. He pulled down his black hood and his gaze flickered to me for a second and I felt anger rise.
I remembered Lyrra’s question and nodded to her.

I walked over to the side of the gas station looking back to see if Stephan was following me. He was. I turned and looked at him. His eyes were a dark blue. I could tell they'd been black a second ago.
