Final stand

Piper nodded slightly.
"I wonder what they're all talking about."

"Probably something hugely important that we'd prefer to ingnore..." Jaxle replied, jokingly. "Come on, let's go."

Hal looked down at the stairs. "And here they come." He said, quietly.

Piper nodded and followed.

Monica held her breath.

Scarlet sighed. "I guess i can talk to him."

Jaxle reached tohe top of the stairs. "Hi, family!" He said, smiling.

Scarlet smiled to Piper and JAxel stepping forward.
She rested a hand on Jaxel's shoulder. "Hey! Can i have a word with you?" She asked feeling like a total idiot, But he had to know these things.

Piper looked at Scarlet and smiled weakly.
"I guess i'll just have an awkward moment with your mum while you and Scarlet talk." she said to Jaxel

Jaxle laughed. "ok, you do that..." He said, and turned to scarlet. "What is it?" He asked, happily.

Scarlet pulled him into the kitchen and closed the door behind him.
"Have you realised what Piper is?" She asked, trying not to make him get the wrong idea.

Piper walked into the room and sat down on the couch looking across at Monica with a weak smile.
"Uh. . .Hi."
Monica smiled. "Hi."

Jaxle nodded. "yeah, i know.." He said, the smile fading off of his face. "And i guess you've been thinking the same thing as me..."

Scarlet nodded.
"We think we might be able to make her Immortal. But she'd have to agree with it. And i'm not up for making her a Spirit."

Jaxle looked up. "you know someone who could do that...?" he asked, his eyes lighting up.

Scarlet nodded again.
"He's a witch.
Pavle died almost 6000 years ago, but he gave himself a mark. The mark of eternal life." She said with a deep wavering sigh.
"But to make it work, Piper has to die after it's made, or if she dies old, she'll stay old forever."
Scarlet took a pause. "The Mark almost freezes your body the way it was just before you died."
she looked at Jaxel with worried eyes. "It's the only way, unless you want to turn her into a blood thirsty vampire."

Jaxle sighed. "Ok....let's do it then." He said, "But i miht not be able to handle the sight of her body..." he warned, shuddering.

Scarlet nodded slightly.
"I'm not telling her. I had to tell you, and now you can deal with your girlfriend's reaction." She frowned. "Girlfriend doesn't sound like the right word."

Jaxle frowned. "oh, that won't go down well. 'excuse me Piper, we have to kill you for a second'..." He said, then sighed. "Ok, but if she kicks my ass i blame you."

Scarlet rolled her eyes.
"Okay, fine."

Jaxle sighed, looking over at Piper. "I can't tell her now..." He said, looking over at Scarlet again. "I don't have the heart..."

Scarlet took a deep sigh. "You have to, we need to see Pavle tonight."

"Ok. Ok." Jaxle said, sighing and walking over to Piper. "Can we talk about something quickly?" He asked, looking over at Hal, who was watching him sympathetically.

Piper nodded.
"Sure."

Jaxle sighed. "There's no real easy way of putting this." He said, then sat down. "As you know, I'm a spirit, and i won't die anytime soon. But you...." He paused, taking a deep breath. "...at the end of the day, you're only human." He said, and sighed. "There's one way to change that...but it needs to be done after you die." He said, then sighed, putting his head in his hands. "Do you understand what i mean?" He said, almost a whisper.

Piper shook her head.
"No, what are you trying to say?"

"In order for you to live on..." He said, sighing, "We'll have to kill you." He said, asn fell backwards, covering his facewith his hands. "I'm sorry, but it's the only way. You don't have to do it if you don't want to."

Piper shook her head. "No, Jaxel, i have to do it. I want to." She lifted her hand and ran her fingers through his hair.
"I really do want to be with you."

Jaxle sighed, slowly. "And you understand if this doesn't work, you will die." He said, after a while.
