Side Stories: Jaxle

Jaxle watched the road, staring ahead. This was all his fault. "I'm sorry..." He said, quietly. This was all his doing. If he hadn't been so reckless then innocent people wouldn't get their houses blwn up.

Piper looked up at him slowly. “It isn’t your fault; I’m just a nosey little freak.” She said with a slight smile trying to make him feel better.
She lifted a petite hand and lightly brushed her fringe from her blue eyes. She cleared her throat trying to make the moment not so awkward. “I never thanked you properly, the guy was a freak.” She said referring to before, when Jaxel punched the pervert in the face. “Thanks for everything.”

Jaxle sighed, shaking his head. He was such an idiot. He stopped at a red light, sighing. "You tired?" He asked, watching out for assassins.

"No." She said leaning her head against the window and yawning. She didn't want to sleep, but she was tired as hell and it was around three in the morning. "I'm not tired."

"You must be..." He said, looking down. He had his revolver on the seat next to him. "Yeah, well the bed's on the right side of the van. It folds out of the wall."

Piper didn't answer him she just sort of crawled in the back.
She unfolded the bed and lay down resting her head on the pillow. "So what happened to make you want to Kill these dicks?" she asked rubbing her eyes trying to restrain herself from falling asleep.

"I thoguht i told you, they're trying to kill everyone i ever knew. And me." He said, sighing.

just go to sleep... he thought to himself, staring out over the Black road. He looked back down at the revolver.

Piper frowned. "Sorry." She said and closed her eyes. Her brown hair was strung over her neck, shoulder and chest as she lay on her side. Her head resting on her hands.
Piper was asleep within seconds.

**I'm afraid he might shoot her. :]**

Jaxle brought the van to a halt, grabbing the revolver and climbing in to the back. He brought the gun up to Piper's head, his hands shaking, and he stood for a second, fear crossing his face. After a while, he sighed, lowering the revolver. He fell to his knees, sighing and putting the gun to his head, ready to pull the trigger and do the one thing he had to do to kill him for good. Commit suicide.

Piper heard a click and felt the car had stopped. She opened her eyes to see Jaxel with a gun pointed to his head. Fear crossed over her and she sat up quickly. “Jaxel stop.” She demanded.

Jaxle opened his eyes, looking at Piper. "I....i was going to kill you..." He said, clicking the hammer back on the revolver.

Piper stood up and walked towards him. She casually knelt in front of him and rested her hand on his hand with the revolver. “Don’t Jaxel.” She looked into his eyes, hoping he’d put the gun down and just forget about it.
“Please don’t pull the trigger.” Her voice was a whisper now. She was trying to hold back tears.

Jaxle let the gun drop, and felt himself go limp, submissivley. "I'm so sorry..." He whispered, a tear landing on the metal next to the gun he dropped.

Piper shook her head letting her hair fall wherever it pleased. She wiped the tear from his face. “It’s okay.” She said her eyes full of concern.

Jaxle looked up. How could be it okay? how could it ever be okay? He'd nearly killed her, right there. He was still shaking, but now he was speechless. What could he say?

Piper felt afraid of what he’d do. She saw the pain in his eyes and she couldn’t understand why he was beating himself up. So what if he almost killed her? She’d be dead and that’s that, she at least wouldn’t feel the pain of losing her brother or the hurt from being rejected from her mother. “Jaxel please say something.”

JAxle just shook his head, slowly standing up. His body was shaking violently, then he reached out and put his arms around Piper, pulling himself close to her. "I'm sorry..." He said again.

Piper was shocked for a second. She then eased into the thought of him hugging her and wrapped her arms around him as well. “It’s okay Jaxel.”

Jaxle didn't say anything. He didn't want to move. Ever. So he didnt. He just stood there, letting the world slip away from under him. He slowly forgot everything. Not even the assassins could ruin this.


*Fail >.>*

Piper burried her face in his shoulder. She loved this feeling. She actually felt wanted for a change, she felt safe. Her thoughts raced, but only of him. She honestly didn't understand how she was standing there hugging someone who was about to kill her. She let that slip by.

Jaxle looked up. The sun was starting to rise, welcoming a new day. A new change. "We need to go..." He said, reluctantly.

Piper nodded slightly. "Okay, where are we going?" She asked breaking the hug.

**That anime would be so cool! Maybe i can practice my drawing more and i will create an anime!**

Jaxle sighed. "Out of the city for a bit. We can't risk being seen in the city. There's a cottage a few miles out." He said, starting up the engine, then he looked round. "Uhh, is that OK?" He asked, suddenly worried.

Piper nodded. "That sounds good." she said uncomfortably and sat in the passenger seat and stared at her feet.

**Fail**

They were on the road for about an hour when they finally came to the cottage. the van pulled up outside. "Well, here we are..." Jaxle said. The cottage was nothing special, made out of stone. It had an old door, which was heavier than every door in Jaxle's old apartment put together.
