Side Stories: Jaxle

Piper shook her head and stared at him from the doorframe. "What? I'm coming with you then!" She yelled in defense. Piper didn't want to be alone, she felt safe with Jaxel. For once she felt safe, and now he was leaving her in a house full of empty rooms and a fireplace. She restrained herself from breaking into tears, the only reason she had lived in an apartment was because she was afraid of being alone, afraid that her brother's killer would find her and finish her off.
Pain flashed in her blue eyes.

Jaxle looked round. "I can't let you do that." He said, looking down. "You're already in enough danger because of me..." He started, then he looked down at the ground. "I also can't let you because..."

He choked on his words.

"I can't do it because i love you too much."

Piper stared at him for a few moments. The truth screamed in her head but she couldn't bring herself to say it. She took a deep shaky breath.
"I love you too." She said trying to keep back tears. "It isn't your fault, I'm just. . . Stubborn."

Jaxle was taken aback, and stood on the spot, silently. "You...?" He began, but was speechless. He felt a raindrop hit his hand, and then it began to pour down with rain, through the darkness, rain reflected off of the shine from Jaxle's eyes, like two beacons cutting through the blackness.

Piper stood at the doorframe hoping he'd chang his mind at any second. She didn't wish to run after him, that'd only be desperate.She could probably get herself killed.

after a moment, Jaxle sighed. "If you come, you'll get yourself killed." He said, and the sadness that crossed his face made it impossible to tell whether it was rainwater running down his cheeks or tears. "I'm sorry." He whispered, startin the engine of the truck.

Piper felt a tear run down her pale cheeck and drip from her chin. She had never felt this kind of heartbreak. She didn;t know if Jaxel would ever come back, she had no clue how long she'd have to stay in the empty cottage. She had no clue how many nights she'd have to stare blankly at the amber fire.
"Please. . ." Her voice was barely a whisper, caught by the lump in her throat.

Jaxle couldn't bear it. "If anything happened to you, i'd be ripped apart..." He said, walking forwards. "So, please..." He started,

he bent down and kissed Piper on the lips for a good few seconds.

"...Please, just listen to me this once."

*Jaxle just owned Hal at romance xD*

Piper felt his lips press against hers and she was taken aback. She kissed him back and then stared at him and tried to keep herself calm. She nodded slightly.
"Just make sure to come back in one piece." She said.
Piper felt like a wife to a veteran, like Jaxel was going off to the battle field, to shoot people down to save his country. She hated not knowing what was in store for him. She lifted a pale hand and brushed hair from her face.

Jaxle ran his fingers through her hair. "I'll be back. How could i not be, with you waiting for me?" He asked, smiling. He paused, staring at her features, then kissed her again, only this time he didn't pull away.

Piper let the kiss linger. She put her hands on his shoulders. Her eyes closed and it was almost breathtaking.
Now she really didn’t want this to end.

Finally, Jaxle slowly stepped away, his eyes shining. "I'll be back as soon as this is over." He promised, stepping in to the truck and reversing away from the cottage. Before he didn't try to die. Now he refused to.

Piper took a deep breath and walked into the house letting her emotions flow.

Jaxle kept his eyes on the road, concentrating. Or trying to. he couldn't keep his mind off of Piper. It was....well, it was impossible. Simply impossible.
