Nightmare

** :3 Sorry if it's absolute fail...I really dunno what to write**

The girl sat in the shadows, her glowing green eyes scanning the blue painted room, her gaze lingered over the bed whose content was filled by a small sleeping body; the blond hair just barely poking out from under the blue covers. The blankets slowly rising and falling as the boy slept peacefully.
She emerged from the corner of the room; just barely so half her pale face was luminous in the moonlight. She heard a crackling outside of the window and she drew back the curtains, her eyes staring out into the streets.
Two figures were moving quickly down the streets, almost as if they were hovering, the streetlamps around them sparking and burning out; Sending shadows to cast over the pavement.
The two figures looked up through the window and she pressed herself hard against the wall. She grabbed for a knife that was attached to her thigh and held it hard against her chest.
She held her breath, knowing that Nightmares could hear the breath of a being from miles away. That was how they sniffed out the children.
She gritted her teeth and looked at Jeramy. The kid she was looking after.

Scarlet had heard of the outbreak of Nightmares among the people of the city. She’s tracked down the house of Jeramy Stone, a kid who was a huge target for the Nightmares. He was one of the only children who had an assigned Dream Catcher and who had special abilities. Only some coming into full view at that time.
She was set up on top of his roof, her left eye covered by her glossy black hair, she’d cut it shorter since the last time she’d seen anyone. Her gaze flew across the street and landed on two figures. Their heads cocked to one side and they were almost hovering towards the big white house.
She snarled silently.
Scarlet had run into Bloo’s twin brother Redd when she was doing her routine scout out among the houses, making sure everything was fine and dandy. She’d been here for a few weeks and this was the first time she had seen any sign of the Nightmares since their last attack on a girl down the block.
Her gaze shifted to Redd who was sitting perfectly still, his head tilted down, he was listening for the Nightmares.
Two strips of black tape were covering both of his eyes in an X formation, Scarlet never understood why he did this.
She gripped her revolver in her pocket and clicked back the hammer slowly. She aimed it and the two Nightmares stopped and she caught their gaze, making her instantly falter and drop her gun.

A third figure silently walked towards the two nightmares, two pools of green glowing from under a black hood being the only sign of colour on the silhouette. It stopped, and a butterfly knife slid out from under the sleeve of the hooded jacket, locking in to place with the blade out. "Leave." A voice whispered, the breath off of the figures lips turning to steam in the freezing air, but...somehow...black steam.

Scarlet looked at the third figure with anger. This was her gig, he could sniff out his own prey. She'd been here for weeks waiting for some action, and stuck with the blind freak, that was half sane and burnt down trees whenever he heard a sudden movement.
She felt around the rooftop for her gun and realized it had fallen into the gutter.
"Redd stay here, don't move or we'll both blow up." she said gritting her teeth as she lowered herself down to the window where the green eyed girl was standing.
Scarlet looked through the window quickly and then shook her head, slowly reaching down for her gun. She stradied herself on the shingles, not having much room to balance herself.
She glared down at the figures and slipped almost losing her balance. A loose shingle fell and broke against the pavement.
The two figures who had turned their attention to the third figure had poofed in a cloud of smoke and appeared next to Scarlet.
Their faces had no eyes, only two holes, their lips were missing and all you could see was bloodstained razor-sharp teeth glistening in the moonlight.

Shayde heard the clash of the shingles and pulled back the cutain. She jumpped through the window, glass shattered and she knocked Scarlet to the ground.
The glass realigned itself in the wondow and it looked like nothing had broken it.
She held her knife out at the Nightmares and glared at them with animal-like eyes.

Redd lifted his head quickly and bolted towards the gutter, grabbing Scarlet's revolver and he was hurtling towards the ground.

The figure sighed, shooting forwards, his hoodie flying off to reveal black hair, glowing green eyes, and a pale face, smiling slightly. He blinked, and he was standing in front of the two figures with a silver 1911. He pointed it at the first figure.

Bloo awoke suddenly to the sound of a gunshot ringing out across the silent city.

Shayde gritted her teeth and looked through the window towards Jeramy, who had been awaken by the gunshot. Her brow furrowed and she set her jaw.
"Fuck, you dumbass! Are you trying to wake up the whole city!" She hissed at the figure and crawled through the window, the glass cracking as she seeped through it as if she were a ghost. Once she was through the glass mended once more and she took Jeramy in her arms and ruffled his blond hair.

Scarlet landed in a bush below the window. She fell through the leavs scratching her body. The branches gave in and she fell to the grass with a loud thud.
"Ow." she groaned.

Redd winced at the sound of Scarlet's thud and he jumpped up next to the figure who had taken out the two Nightmares. He couldn't see him, but he could feel his presents.
"You know the parents are really heavy sleepers, something's going wrong in that house, or they're calling the police."

Shayde opened the window and glared at the two boys.
"I'll kill you."

"You don't know who i am." The green-eyed man replied. "And chances are you've never met a spirit." He said, clicking the hammer back on his gun, his eyes reflecting in the slide of it.

Shayde stared at him with intence green eyes.
"I've met many Spirits." She hissed and held Jeramy closer.
Her gaze flickered to Redd who moved his head to face her, the two black X's over his eyes made her growl.
"What kind of a Blind man sits on top of rooftops. and who the hell do you think YOU are taking over my duties." she said to all three of them.

Scarlet closed her eyes and appeard next to Redd her black hair rustled and a mess, her electric blue eye glowing brightly as she felt rage well inside of her.
"You knocked me off the roof." She spat at the Dream Catcher.

Redd growled at Shayde.
"We were only helping." He said with a snarl. "From the feeling i'm getting from your powers, you wouldn't have been able to take care of those Nightmares."
He faced Scarlet.
"I forgot to tell you, the rest of them are wondering where you are."

"never mind that. Why are there nightmares here, and what is the signifigance of that child you're guarding?" The green-eyed spirit replied, coldly, but lowering the gun.

Shayde looked at the green-eyes spirit intently and finally broke the silents.
"He's one of the chosen children. You know, abilities noone could possibly imagine. Not even a Spirit isn't as powerful." She spat to Scarlet and the green-eyes spirit.
"There are only two other children like him. Both of them have been found with their lips sewn shut and their hearts plucked out. I was sent here to protect him."

Scarlet eyed the sleepy child who looked up at her with big round blue eyes.
She smiled at him slightly and he burried his face in Shaydes shoulder.
"All this trouble for a kid..?"

Redd frowned.
"Well he must be imprtant otherwise why the hell would we be here, Scarlet..?"
Scarlet looked at the blind freak and frowned.
"We're going to need Bloo...and probably Ghost."

"One of the chosen ones..." The green-eyed spirit repeated, staring in to something only he could see.

Bloo grabbed his pistol, exiting his house and walking down the road. "Damn things, going around, causing trouble for people..." he muttered, then froze, as he heard a whispering noise.

The green-eyed spirit looked up. "Someone's here, and they're armed." He said, and his body melted in to black smoke, the two green eyes glowing even brighter. Then the smoke flew down the side of the building, making a sound like the wind blowing through trees, or somebody whispering. Two gunshots went off, then a noise like electrical crackling, and a scream of pain.


Bloo watched the plume of smoke with....what looked like green eyes...speeding towards him, and raised his pistol, firing a shot. It had no effect, except making the smoke move faster. He fired again, but the smoke was already upon him. It seemed to suck the gun out of his hand, spitting it out, then an arm of smoke shot out, wrapping around Bloo's torso, and a faint humming sound echoed, then plumes of green electricity coursed from the eyes, through the smoke body and through the arm in to Bloo. A smell of burning flesh started to pollute the air, then Bloo cried out in agony. The lightning evaporated inside the smoke. "Who are you?" A voice, cold as the touch of a dead man asked, and Bloo gasped for air.

Scarlet gritted her teeth at the stench. The howl she heard sounded very familiar. Before she could put her finger on it Redd had jumpped from the roof and landed infront of his twin Bloo.
"Jesus christ! You attack people without warning don't you, you dumbass Spirit!" He yelled.
"Let. Bloo. Go." He said it with a hiss and fire danced from his fingertips.

Scarlet heard Bloo's name being murmered and she looked at the Dream Catcher with worry filled eyes.
"Please exscuse me." She said and jumpped from the roof.
She looked at Bloo's body with fear.
"What the hell did you do!?" He yelled at the green-eyed Spirit. Still to be nameless.

the plume of smoke swirled back a few paces. "Interrogation." Is all he said. "They are getting smarter." He said, forming back in to a humanoid shape, his eyes dulling. "The damage is superficial, it just feels to him like it's serious. If it was, he'd be in as many parts as a jigsaw puzzle by now." Bloo gritted his teeth, shakily forcing himself to his knees. "Reassuring." He said, then picked his gun back up. "And what's to stop me shooting you right now?" He asked. The green-eyed spirit smiled. "Nothing. And that's exactly--"

Bloo pulled the trigger.

The bullet slammed through the green-eyed spirit's chest, but instead of blood, smoke poured out, then the wound closed, almost instantly. "If these people didn't know you, i'd kill you now. I am El Diablo. I am the smoke."

Scarlet let out a sigh and shook her head at El Diablo.
"You motherfucker, i swear to god if you try anything like that again, i'll send you to Hell myself." She said taking in a sharp breath, relieved that Bloo hadn't suffered much damage.

Redd gritted his teeth.
"Bloo why are you here anyways..?" He asked.
"Redd, shut up, we needed him anyways." Scarlet spat.

Shayde held Jeramy closer to her and leapped off the roof landing in front of Bloo and the others.
Jeramy looked at them all with round deep blue eyes, still sleepy.
"Shayde...who are all of these people..?"
He asked his fist gripping her sleeve, taking a bundle of her shirt in his small fingers. He looked up at her and frowned slightly.
"They're here to help." she said reasuringly, sounding like a mother.
"To make the bad dreams go away..?"
Shayde looked at the rest of them with worried green eyes. She closed them and took a deep breath. "Yes."

Smoke suddenly froze, hearing something, He looked round. "Take the boy and go." He said, then turned to face scarlet and Bloo. "That includes you and the blind one."

Suddenly, all the lights around them fizzed out, then the bulbs smashed, raining glass around them. "Go." Diablo repeated, his body morphing in to the plume of electric smoke, as 6 nightmares silently approached. Blo turned to Scarlet and Redd. "Take him and get outta here." He said, then watched as the smoke wrapped itself around one of the nightmares, and Green electricity began sparking through the smoke, a droning noise starting up, then it got deafningly loud, until suddenly green sparks of electricity coursed through the streets, and blood splattered across the floor where the nightmare had been. The smoke reeled back, revealing a body, crushed into itself and burned severely. It fell to the side.

Shayde held Jeramy closer to her body.
The blond boy's blue eyes turned into a sickening white and he gritted his teeth. "Make them go away Shayde." He said and she just looked at Redd and Scarlet with more worry and fear.
She'd never seen this many Nightmares after one child, she'd only seen one or two after one child, never more then three.

Scarlet growled at Bloo her electric eye glowing brighter. The freckles on her face making her still seem like a little girl, but like a little girl with a bad temper.
"I'm not leaving you here Bloo, you almost got sizzled out by sparky there!" she shouted and as the burnt body collapsed she grabbed Redd and Shayde in her hands, gripping them both by the arms.
"I'm coming back for you Bloo." She said.
As Shayde and Redd stood on either side of her, they towered over her pixie like figure immensely. Making her look like she was in her early teens...way early teens.
Scarlet closed her eyes and with a whisper she and the other two were gone.

Redd felt the gust of wind quickly and then the presents of Bloo, Smoke, and the Nightmares were gone.
He frowned to himself slightly. He felt a calmer new environment.
"Where are we..?"
"In the Light Dimension. Where all the Dream Catchers are from." Shayde said quickly.

The Smoke whispered between the nightmares, which reached out for it. Flashes of green electricity cast shadows across the streets, and blood ran in to the gutters. suddenly, the smoke formed back in to the shape of a human, the emerald green eyes blazing. One nightmare stood in front of him, the green sparks fizzing harmlessly off of his body. "Hello, Diablo." The Smoke said, and the nightmare laughed, but somehow whispered the laugh. "I hear that's the name you give to your victims. You were many things, but not a name stealer." It said, and the smoke nodded. "Well, it's for dramatic effect. Maybe a passage of the bible would work better."

Bloo raised the gun to the nightmare's back, and the smoke's eyes widened. "Wait--!" He warned, but then the gun went off. Blood splattered across the pavement, and the nightmare laughed, looking at the smoke, who's jaw had dropped. "You idiot..." He whispered, then fell to his knees. The nightmare called diablo stared at Bloo from under it's hood, and began to speak. "Normal bullets don't kill us, but they do kill him." It explained, pointing to the smoke who had a hand to his stomach, trying to block the flow of blood. Bloo grimaced, as a white light began to shine out from Diablo's hood. "Now. Die." It said, then a huge electrical charge ripped through the streets.



The smoke swirled around Bloo, black smoke turning green and white with electricity. Diablo laughed. "You can't kill me, phantom, you'll just die trying!" It shouted, and the smoke roared, a metallic sound, that cut through the night. Four plumes of smoke wrapped around the nightmare, lifting it in to the air and smashing it through a wall. "Fucking run if you want to live." The smoke whispered, as white electricity rocketed down the four arms in to the main body, turning the smoke in to the spirit's human form, then throwing him in to a car. "Phantom. You are the last of the emerald spirits. And now you are going to die." Diablo said, as the lights cut back in to life, then started to whistle and turn red with heat. Phantom's eyes widened. "GET INSIDE!" he shouted to Bloo, and Bloo instantly kicked open the nearest door, diving inside. Then the lights exploded, sending white-hot shards of glass everywhere. Phantom slumped to the side, shards of glass cutting him like a pin cushion. He choked, despearatley trying to get to his knees. Diablo approached, then a gunshot rung out, and Diablo howled, black blood spewing over the streets. The clouds in the sky began to twist and form in to a tornado, wrapping around the nightmare, then it evaporated and Diablo was gone. Phantom fell backwards, breathing deeply.

**No seriously WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED!!!!**

Scarlet looked around, everything was lighter; everything was covered in a small glow. The grass was greener, the trees looked healthier.
She frowned slightly. "Is this Paradise..?" She asked confused at whether she had brought them to heaven, or to the Dimension of Dream Catchers.
"No, this is the Light Dimension, Scarlet." Shayde said harshly.
Scarlet growled.

Redd sat with his back against a tree. He smiled brightly and put his hands behind his head.
"I like it here." He said with a sigh.
He could feel where every tree was, he could sense where every twig and root was.
"Wait...Why are we in a forest..?"
Shayde looked at Bloo with sharp green eyes. "We're on the outskirts of the city in this Dimension. This is where all the Dream Catchers go to train." She said and held Jeramy tightly to her.

Scarlet rolled her eyes and looked at them both.
"Stay here, i'm going to get Bloo."
She closed her eyes and with a whisper she vanished and appeared at the same spot she had been. She saw black blood scattered on the pavement.
"What the fuck happened here..?"

*Uhh, the most powerful nightmare showed up, bloo tried to shoot him bur ended up hitting Phantom (The green eyed spirit), then Diablo (The nightmare) fused all the lights around, causing every light around them to explode, the shards of glass sticking in to Phantom and pretty much fucking him up, lol*

Bloo turned round. "Scarlet!" He shouted, running over to her. Phantom tried to pull himself up on a car mirror, but it broke, and he fell on to his back, the shards of glass sticking deeper in to his back. He shouted out, the blood trickling down his back.

*Fail*

Scarlet looked over to Bloo and smiled wide. Her small body coming up a few feet shorter then Bloo's.
She wrapped her small arms around him.
"Whoa..." She froze and looked over to Phantom.
She walked to him and grabbed his arm helping him up.

Phantom leaned against a building wall for support, spitting out blood. He felt weak, looking at the blood that had run down his shirt. "I'l kill him one day." He said to himself, his body shaking slightly. Bloo walked over to him. "What the fuck are they?" He asked, and Phantom looked up at him. "They're called nightmares. They live to cause pain and suffering."

Scarlet looked at him with soft eyes.
"Come on, lets get you to Shayde." She said and grabbed Phantom by the shirt.
She placed her hand on Bloo's Shoulder.
"Take a deep breath." She warnned.

"What?" Phantom asked, blood tickling from his wounds. Suddenly, he looked in to the eyes of Diablo. "He's back." Phantom said, drawing a gun and firing 5 times at the eyes, but they were gone. The seconds seemed like hours in the silence, then a laugh as Diablo ran forwards, holding a large combat knife.

Scarlet rolled her eyes and closed them. With a whisper they were facing Redd who was now snoring.
Scarlet frowned at Phantom.
"Put the guns away, there is a child here."

Shayde looked at them with wide eyes.
"What the hell happened to ou two!?" She said indicating Bloo and Phantome.
Jeramy was now fast asleep, still clutching her cloths between his small fingers.

Phantom just shook his head. "it's not just nightmares after that kid." he said, pulling shards of bloody glass out of his arm. Bloo sat down on the floor, unloading his gun.

Scarlet sat next to Bloo and held her hand to his shoulder.

Redd woke with a jolt and shook his head feeling the presents of his brother. He grinned.
"Bloo! You're alive!" He got up and hugged a tree.
Scarlet frowned.
"Hey, hotshot, he's over here."
Redd frowned and turned towards her. "That explained why he had such rough skin."

Shayde looked at Phantom with wide green eyes.
"What...is after Jeramy..?" She asked her voice low and harsh.
Rage twisted in her eyes.
