Roots (modern RP)

Shadow looked down at him. "Oh christ...get the medic!" He said, quickly. "He IS The fucking medic!" Steve shouted back, running to Karl's side. "Karl, come on, buddy, can you hear me? Have you been shot?"

Karl looked up and stared back at Shadow with dark crimson eyes... "Run..." He croaked... "Get the Lutenaint and Steve... And run." He collapsed into fits again and screamed as his skin turned pale and he grew more muscular.

"Karl...?" Tricia asked, taking a cautious few steps forwards. She sensed something strange, a new feeling. Any fears were confirmed by the transformation. "KARL!" She yelled, staying a step away, looking at him with fear and concern.

*Apologise in advance for godmoding a lil *

Shadow revved the chainsaw for protection. Miller put a gun to Karl's head. "Put him down," He said quietly, but Steve kicked the gun out his hand, pulling out his own pistol. The sergeant speared him to the floor. Steve looked over at shadow "Take Tricia and go!" He shouted, as Miller slowly forced the gun to his chest. Shadow nodded, grabbing Tricia and pulling her through a door in to a house. Shadow heard two shots outside and shook his head. "We need to get to that extraction point," He said to Tricia, slowly. "First Karl, now Steve. Sometimes i wonder if i'll make it through this war..." He said, sighing and lighting himself a cigarette.

The pistol slid across the floor, and Steve looked over at it, lying on the floor, bleeding badly. He saw Miller walking in the direction of the house Shadow and Tricia had gone through, holding his shotgun. "Tricia, he whispered, and set his sights on the pistol again.

Shadow heard another shot ring out, and Miller burst through the door, dead. Shdow looked through at the street, and saw Steve lying on his side, eyes closed, bleeding slowly.

Karl screamed again... But this time it came as a snarl... He felt strong and powerful... He tried to stand but got halfway up when he collapsed...

"Oh my God, AGAIN!" Tricia yelled, looking at the bleeding Steve. "I can't leave a comrade to die!" Tricia yelled to Shadow, running to Steve's side. She checked his pulse, picking him up in her arms. "Why can't Karl be here?" She growled, looking around. "We need to stay together, and stay strong," She continued to herself, walking back.

Shadow kicked down another door, leading out the back of the house. "Tricia, come ON!" He shouted, beckoning for her to follow him through. "He's gone, Tricia. We have to go."

Karl stood up... His eyes glowed crimson... He looked down at himself... Now muscular, handsome and pale... He smiled and licked his fangs...

"Tricia, he's DEAD! come ON!" Shadow urged, seeing Karl for what he really was.

Tricia looked down, nodding. She sprinted, going fast. Fast as a falcon. She caught up to Shadow, seeing Karl. "What the FUCK?!?" She yelled, still sprinting. "What's up with him?" She asked, shocked. The strange feeling returned. It was incredibly strong. Tricia's eyesight blurred. She felt drunk, staggering as she ran. What was this sixth sense Karl had triggered?

"the Helicopter's waiting for us on the other side of these houses..." Shadow said, revving up the chainsaw as he saw figures moving up ahead.

Ghost watched from the helicopter as they came in to land. "I see multiple hostiles around the LZ. engaging now." He pulled out a revolver and took aim. He let off a shot, as he saw the figure stagger, then fall to the ground. "enemy down..." He reported, clicking back the hammer of the revolver once again.

Shadow picked himself back up, holding the bullet wound. "Friendly fire!" He shouted. Another bullet passed him. "Friendly fucking fire!!" he shouted, again.

Ghost saw his target shouting and waving. "Shit, he's still alive. Ok, this shot'll kill him good." Ghost took aim, then the helicopter swerved to avoid an incoming rocket, and ghost's shot missed by an inch. Ghost fell out of the helicopter, landing on a roof painfully. "Oh christ..." He said. He looked over at a man holding a rocket launcher. "You unlucky bastard..." He said, shooting the man 3 times. He reloaded his revolver, and started to make his way downstairs. He opened the door, and came to a figure. "We need to get to that chopper." The soldier said, pulling out a black pistol.

Karl looked back at Tricia, "Hey Luitenant!" He smiled and showed his fangs... "Nothing to worry about... I hope..." He looked uncertain... What had just happened?

Shadow held the chainsaw up. "Stay...the fuck...back..." He said, slowly.

Karl took a step back... "Shadow... It's me Karl Vampike..."

Shadow lunged the chainsaw at him wildly, not knowing who...or what...he was.

Tricia was bordering on fainting. The sense was too strong now. "Shadow, if I faint...don't leave me near him. I think my ancestors could sense strange beings. Add that to the fangs...Yeah, he's a vampire," Tricia said, eyes almost closed. She held back vomit, falling over.

Karl caught the chainsaw in his hand and it did no damage to his skin... "SHADOW!" He shouted over the noise of the chainsaw, "IT'S ME! KARL!!!"

Shadow caught Tricia, pulling out her pistol and dragging her backwars. He took aim. "Follow us and it's pow right between the eyes." He said, growling. A sniper watched them. "What the hell is that thing...?" He asked himself, putting the scope's sights on Karl's head. The man to the left of the sniper, ghost, took aim with his revolver again, and pulled the trigger. "Finally got him.." He grinned.

Shadow went cold as the shot rung out. He dropped Tricia, staggering back, then fell to the floor. His helmet rolled across the grass, his dogtags hung around his neck, bloodsplattered.

Ghost stopped. "oh fuck..." He said, quietly. "He was one of our men..." he realised, seeing the small blue crest with the eagle's head insignia on it. The mark of the 101'st Airborne Marine Division.

Karl's head swerved around... He snarled and leapt up at the building... His new muscles bourght his halfway up the building and he dug his fingers into the brick. He leapt up again and was level with them... He growled... "You shouldn't of done that...."

Ghost turned round. "What the fuck is that thing?" He called to the figure, but he was gone. He slowly turned back round to look at Karl. "Is it P.O.W or K.I.A, then?"

*P.O.W? K.I.A?*

*Prisoner of war and Killed in action*

"What's it to be?" Ghost asked again, holstering his revolver slowly.

The marine watched through the scope of his rifle from a building across the street, sighing through his facemask. He unbuckled his helmet slowly.

Shadow slowly realised he was going to die, but Tricia was still out cold. He desperatley tried to wake her, but slowly slumped back, and death took a firm grip as his eyes glazed over.

The helicopter flew overhead and the pilot looked down on the scene. "Command, this is Alpha 2-4. We have one confirmed M.I.A and it looks like we have a K.I.A on the deck. I'm bringing her down in the LZ. Out."

Karl smiled, "Go ahead... Shoot me."

"what...?" Ghost asked slowly, then pulled out his revolver. "If you say so..."

The shot rung out across the city.

"Fucking idiot..." The Marine sighed, seeing shadow and Tricia and moving towards their position, slowly.

Karl caught the bullet in his hand and smiled. He closed his fist and opened it... Dust trickled out from where the bullet had been seconds before.
