Back to the Labyrinth

Shadow slowly helped Hal to his feet, sighing. How many attacks would it take to kill them all, he wondered. His brother and best friend were dead, and the survivors were either injured or emotionally hurt. Hal looked over at Monica, and said to Shadow, slowly, "I can't help thinking, if Kestrell never Met monica, would she still end up here? Would she still be dead? And if Saluka's plan had failed, would Ghost and Bloo still be aliveas well?"

Shadow sighed. "Those things are for the world spirit to decide." He said, quietly. "We'll bury bloo and then we'll have to get away from this area."

Hal agreed, and they set to work, slowly, sadly. He could tell that scarlet wasn't going to forget this day for a long time.

Scarlet never helped with the burying. she didn't take another look at bloos corps. She just stared blankly at a tree. She lifted her fist and punched at the bark. she did it once more, twice, three more times. and kept going till her knuckles bled. she looked at her hands. they were bloody and shredded. slivers of wood were stuck under her flesh. She stared at her brothers and at Monica. wondering how they'd get through their hopelessly gory nightmarish lives. She stared at monica for a bit longer.

Monica felt Scarlet watching her and she turned and their eyes met.
Scarlet saw the sadness. the confusion. the hatred. and remembered Jaxle. she lowered her head.
and Monica knew She knew. But did the others know?
they were silent for a long time after that.

*You guys,i'm sorry but i really can't go on anymore from now on. I need to get up my grades now.*

*i'm back to my usual boring life, off my holidays, so i won't be on much anyhoo.*

Hal and Shadow stood in silence over Bloo's filled grave. "Can you remeber when we met him?" Hal asked. shadow shook his head. "it was too long ago."

Saluka shook his head. "Can we stop moaning now and try to stay alive?"

Hal spun round and put a blade to Saluka's neck. "Have some god damn respect" He growled, staring into saluka's eyes.

"Respect for the dead... I have none..." Saluka snarled slightly.

"That's funy. I always thought you had no respect for yourself. step out of line one more time and i'll be proven right." Hal said, lowly, sheathing the knife and turning away.

Saluka snorted, "Touchy..." He laughed and turned away... "We need to get moving... Charki will be on our trail again soon.

"The next time i see him, i'll slit his throat." Shadow said, lowly.

"Oh yeah cos that worked soooo well last time..." Saluka sniggered.

Hal spun round, a ring of fire surrounding Saluka. Sand smashed in to the side of the fire, forming a thick dome of glass around him. "Let's get out of this place..." Hal said, spitting on the floor and turning to leave. "Not yet..." Shadow said, then blinked. Four huge spikes slammed through the Glass, stabbing anything on the inside. "Ok." He said. Him, Hal and Taku turned in to the forest, walking away from the burial ground.

Saluka lay limp inside, his eyes unseeing...
